No problem,NO KICK

Life has been going on smoothly lately,and thats been my main problem.Because when everything is going on smoothly and there is no problem that in itself becomes the main problem.Now this is a state everyone has been through but cant define why exactly you are feeling so.The reason is NO KICK.The post came out because off late i saw the movie "KICK" 4 times in 1 day.Lets define KICK.

Its very difficult to define KICK but closely it is the feeling when you achieve something unachievable or dangerous.Its the feeling when you pull off something unimaginable.

If you have never experienced KICK in your life,let me describe you the feeling.Imagine a situation when you have to urgently attend nature's call.You realise that all bathrooms are occupied.As all of you know nature cant wait and so cant you.So you lose all hope and just then someone comes out of the bathroom.Imagine the feeling of satisfaction you feel as if you have won a war.KICK is a similar feeling though not same.

Off late i have been playing a lot of cricket,sometimes even for 3 hours a day,but i realized i was not getting the pleasure i used to get when i played cricket during the time of majors.When i thought of the possible reasons,they were

1.NOW I HAVE A LOT OF TIME IN HAND,PLAYING CRICKET WAS SOMETHING EASILY AVAILABLE.
2.when majors were in progress i had to earn free time by studying fast ,i had to earn the time which gave me immense satisfaction while playing cricket.
3.SINCE I WAS STRESSED OUT DURING MAJORS,CRICKET WORKED AS A STRESS BUSTER,NOW ITS MERELY AN EXERCISE.
4.(MOST IMPORTANT)ALL MY FRIENDS WERE STUDYING AND I WAS THE ONLY ONE PRACTISING CRICKET WHICH GAVE ME A LOT OF KICK

if u observe all the above reasons one point is common.It is better to have a problem and solve it than having no problem at all.because the bottom line

SOLVING A PROBLEM DOES NOT JUST GIVE YOU A SOLUTION,IT GIVES YOU A KICK.

Let me take another example

When an exam finishes,when i see the reaction of my friends,these are some of the reactions i notice

1.TOPPERS(CG>9.00):Yeah,the exam is over,lets prepare for the next one
2.ABOVE AVG(CG>8.00):Oh,i got that one wrong,shit yaar
3.AVG AND BELOW AVG(CG<8.00):OHH BEHENCHOD!!! JO MAIN LAST 5 MIN MEIN PADHA WOH SEEDHA AA GAYA,POORA CHEP DIYA,MAST HUA,MAIN SOCH RAHA THA FAIL HOONGA,LEKIN PASS JAROOR HONGA,MAST HAI YAAR BEHENCHOD!!!!!!!

It is very obvious that the last group experiences more KICK than anybody else.

When i asked kaustubh aka costume WHY DONT YOU GET YOURSELF A GIRLFRIEND? He replied getting "A GIRLFRIEND" is not an issue and that is easily available.but getting yourself THE BEST GIRL is important as they are rare and even the ones who exist are not easily available.getting such girl as your girlfriend gives him the real KICK.

SO THE POINT I WANT TO PUT FORWARD IS

KICK LIES IN THE LIVES OF PEOPLE WHO COMPLICATE THEIR LIVES AND SOLVE IT THEMSELVES.

RECENTLY I CALCULATED THE AMOUNT I SPENT DURING THE PAST SEMESTER.THAT COST INCLUDES ONLY MY ENTERTAINMENT AND REFRESHMENT EXPENSES LIKE HOTELS,CINEMAS ETC.I CALCULATED AND IT CAME OUT TO BE Rs 17000 IN 4 MONTHS.I SPENT ON AN AVERAGE 4K A MONTH.THATS THE AVERAGE PER CAPITA INCOME OF AN AVERAGE INDIAN.SO IAM SPENDING AN INDIAN'S LIVELIHOOD JUST FOR MY EXPENSES.THIS IS IN 2010.

I STILL REMEMBER JUST ABOUT A DECADE AGO,I WOULD BEG MY MOTHER TO GIVE ME 1 RUPEE TO BUY bigfun,A KIND OF BUBBLEGUM.THAT WAS THE MAX I COULD EXPECT FROM MY MOM.WHEN SOMEONE CAME HOME AND GAVE A 50 RUPEES,I WUD THINK OF ALL THE WAYS OF SPENDING IT.SO 5O RUPEES WAS SOMETHING UNMANAGABLE TO ME.FROM NOT UNDERSTANDING HOW TO SPEND 50 RS TO TODAY WHERE EVEN 500 DOES NOT SEEM SUFFICIENT.AND THAT TOO IN A SPAN OF 10 YEARS.

WHAT ALL HAVE CHANGED IN THE MEANTIME

1.AGE
2.MATURITY
3.OUTSIDE WORLD

THOUGH THE EFFECTS OF FIRST TWO CANT BE REMOVED WHAT IAM AFRAID OF IS THE OUTSIDE WORLD
IT IS CHANGING AT SUCH A RAPID PACE THAT 10 YEARS AGO I DINT EVEN KNOW THAT SUCH A THING CALLED PIZZA OR BURGER EXISTS.
THE BEST WE ATE FOR EVENING SNACKS IS DOSA OR MIRCHI.

POPCORN WAS THE BEST WE COULD HOPE FOR IN TERMS OF MODERN FOOD ITEMS.

TODAY THERE ARE ABOUT 15 PIZZA JOINTS IN NELLORE ONLY.

I NEVER KNEW THERE WAS SUCH A CUISINE AS CONTINENTAL,THAI ETC ETC.THE WORLD HAS CHANGED IN A JIFFY.

MY BIRTHDAY DRESS COSTED RS 600 GENERALLY.
NOW IAM NOT GETTING A 3/4TH WITH THE SAME AMOUNT.

SO THE POINT IAM TRYING TO MAKE IS WE CANT STOP THE RAPID PACE OF CHANGE

BUT WE CAN CERTAINLY LEARN TO NOT GET INFLUENCED TOO MUCH BY IT.

THESE DAYS PARENTS GET THEIR CHILDREN EVERYTHING WITHOUT SAYING NO.MY BRO,MY COUSIN KEEP DEMANDING THINGS FROM PARENTS AND GET IT DONE.

WHEN I ASK MY FATHER AND UNCLE THEY SAY IF WE CAN AFFORD THEN WHY NOT.

BUT ARENT WE SPOON FEEDING THE KIDS.THEY GET EVERYTHING THEY WANT,SO INFUTURE IN THEIR PROFESSIONAL LIVES CAN THEY BEAR IF THEIR GOALS ARE NOT MET.

WE SHOULD GIVE THE KIDS NOT ONLY HAPPINESS BUT ALSO A TASTE OF FAILURE,DESPAIR TO MAKE THEM WELL PREPARED FOR THE WORLD.

GRACIOUS ACCEPTANCE OF DEFEAT CANT BE ACHIVED WITH THE MODERN UPBRINGING.THAT IS WHY I DONT APPROVE THE YO-YO GENERATION AND THE WAY THEY ARE BEING BROUGHT UP.

BECAUSE IT IS NOT ABOUT HOW MANY GADGETS YOU HAVE,ITS ABOUT KNOWING WHETHER U REALLY NEED IT OR NEED IT BECAUSE THE NEIGHBOURING KID IS HAVING IT

RACIST VIEWS OF SREERAM

I consider myself completely unracist,i judge people by the content of their head and not the colour of skin or place of birth.This is done purely on individual basis.But when one has to judge a group in particular like say Asians,americans,punjabis,bengalis you generally take into account the general tendencies of all the people,like taking xf(x)dx over the whole real axis and finding the mean tendencies(cant help it,too much probability this semester).So when that is done the views expressed might sound racial,but since that is not being done on an individual basis,i think it does not account to racism,but if u prefer to think so,yes Iam a racist.

Now why did i want to write about this.The simple reason is i got frustrated with a few people over the past few months.When i tried to find out the common features they predominantly belonged to 2 sets of people.Since i have experienced the wrath of only these two sets so far let me discuss only these two groups.1.PUNJABIS
2.SOUTH INDIANS(predominantly from andhra pradesh)

PUNJABIS:They are too honest and their over honesty and the lack of diplomacy is what irritates me the most.Personally i dont think this lot believes in what is called personal space and individual freedom.Like say if some person is my friend,he should do whatever i say since iam his friend.Its like people are taken for granted.Theres loud music until late in the night if your family member is getting married and thats why the whole town should not sleep,so forget sleeping the night your neighbour is getting married.They think with their heart and thats why they are very emotional and aggressive.If you dint ever have the chance of seeing a street fight in punjab,you have missed a great action sequence,the masala equivalent of this episode is higher than magadheera,pokiri and wanted put together.And i just dont get the point of using behen..od,madarch.d just for the sake of it.i mean they have lost their significance and are no longer treated as abuses but treated as a way of referral just like "hey sreeram come here"="behench.d idhar aaja".These abuses no longer insult you and the purpose of their creation is being destroyed.

I consider this lot to be religiously very active(read fanatic) but that should be none of my business as its a personal option but what iam trying to say is if some person has died in vienna why do you stop trains in amritsar.(ya it happened recently).The richest person in nellore wont be celebrating his marriage half as grandly as a middle class person in punjab(spend thrifts) but thats again none of my business.

But the people have an extreme honest attitude and i respect them for that.They are extremely hardworking lot and i see no way in which they can harm somebody.Atleast i think they are better than the next lot.

SOUTH INDIANS:
Since i,myself am a south indian initially i could not notice the drawbacks of this lot,because you can only find the negatives if you are not one among them.If you asked my punjabi friends they will tell you what a big bore they can be.Firstly they are a big bore(does not include me because iam above trivial things like race ,caste ,religion and nationality)and i believe are not open to new ideas.they loathe adventure and are too self disciplined and even thats a show off.highly hippocritic and overly sincere and hate change.

They live by rules or so they say,are too diplomatic to my liking.infact if two telugus meet for the first time,the question that would be lingering in their minds is "what is this fellows caste".If i go back home the questions most of my relatives would be asking is"are there any people from andhra pradesh(now that does not include telangana i guess)","do you get our food(rice ,sambhar,rasam,papad,avakaya(a kind of mango pickle)"

Some would even go to the extent of asking is there any good looking girl from our caste(you might have understood why).i feel like ripping apart the brain of theirs.What did god make that with.They hang out in small,isolated groups and dont socialise with people from other sects.And if your professor is a southie forget about him being friendly,he would set the toughest exams and give the lowest grades and some of them would love to see their students fail(most of you might know whom i am referring to)

though these are just stereotypes,they are true nevertheless,iam not saying everyone is like the same but iam saying its a mean tendency

and please dont abuse me for this racial abuse of various sects.its just an opinion and for creating gentle humour.

RAJNI KANTH-NOT A HUMAN BUT A PHENOMENON

Yeah,you heard it right,i dare anyone to say Rajni kanth is normal.His life is the type fairy tales are made of.If there is one person whose life proves that rags to riches stories indeed come true,it is RAJNI KANTH.

RAJNI KANTH was born as shivaji rao gaekwad(his true name).he was a marathi born in bangalore.he was a carpenter who turned coolie turned bus conductor turned actor.

Who would have thought that this bus conductor from bangalore who does not know tamil would rule the industry in the next decade.Who thought this dark looking average man would influence the politics of Tamil nadu.Who thought in 15 years time,the then PRIME MINISTER PV NARASIMHA RAO would request Rajni kanth to join the congress.Thats Rajni kanth for you.

Currently the highest paid actor in ASIA after JACKIE CHAN, never dreamt of becoming an actor.in his own words he said"When i was a bus conductor i only had two wishes to be fulfiled.I wanted to buy a chetak vespa(a scooter) and have a packet of malboro always in my pocket.It is said passengers thronged into his bus just to have a glimpse of his style.the style with which he cut the ticket and gave change was the first taste of style from this man the public had.

If you never had the chance of seeing a RAJNI KANTH movie on a first day you have misses one of the most celebrated melas in INDIA.i have seen it.The 60 feet long cut out is bathed in milk and whisky,fans cut their fingers and put tilak on the cutout.And the tickets sold in black sometimes goes to as high as thousand times the original prize.No other film dares to get released in the same month.It is said a rajni kanths flop film will collect more than the next best heros blockbuster.he is a rage.Directors cannot 'kill off' his character in the movie for fear that the theatre will be burnt down to prevent future runnings of the movie by his 'crazed' fans who consider him almost a god. He is said to "explode like a tiger on screen".

There are fans who commit suicide when his film flops,there are some who cut their tongues if his film is a hit.

Behind all the success he enjoys is a man deep in thought.He probably is the only actor in India who comes into public sans any make up.he is bald,he is dark skinned but never afraid to show his true self.In his own words he had inferiority complex of being dark skinned as a child.but now he says if iam ashamed of my true self,there is no point in living.He is a very spiritual person

Once he had visited a temple in disguise of a beggar lest he would be mobbed.one woman mistook rajni for a beggar and gave him money which he took.when the woman realised after a few minutes he was rajni kanth,she went and apologised and asked him to give back the money as she dint want to insult him.Rajni replied"this is god's way of showing my true status in this world,iam a beggar.it is gods way of grounding me and making me humble.he said through this god said"you minus your glamour are a beggar"

Rajni kanth gets the highest remuneration in india even more than the bollywood counterparts.RAJNI is restricted to the tamil and telugu industry predominantly which is about 1/3rd times of the bollywood viewers,but he commands 3 as much as them.

But the point to be noticed his it is said most (almost 75 percent) goes into charity.He wears simple clothes,the watch he uses is the one he is been using from the past two decades and the car is the one he first bought.the clothes on his body wont cost more than a few hundred rupees.

Many people say rajni kanths films are crap and his stunts defy laws of physics and joke about him.But i question people still enjoy those because he is RAJNI KANTH.its not about the stunts its about the person.if it was any other people wont accept it,but if it were rajni it must be true because rajni is no human.

THATS RAJNI KANTH FOR YOU,NOT A HUMAN -HES A PHENOMENON

A BOY,HIS FRIEND AND FRIEND'S SISTER

Going by the title of this post,dont have any misconceptions that THE BOY refers to me.I just put the title as it sounded good.This post is dedicated to many of my friends especially roomates whose inputs have been frank and very useful.Now I want to discuss the age old question.IS TO WRONG TO HAVE AN AFFAIR WITH YOUR FRIENDS SISTER OR YOUR BROTHERS FRIEND.

Just for fun when i asked my friends how they would feel if i had an affair with his sister the responses were varied.

1.Jaan se maar doonga
2.Its a sin,how can u cheat your friend.
3.Depends on whom she is having an affair with,a jerk like you,no way,i wont allow this
4.Its ok,its her and your wish,we cant force anyone.

All the persons i asked this question said even though they knew what they were doing is not right,when it comes to sister,they cant stand the thought of her having an affair.

Here comes the big question.MOST OF MY FRIENDS EITHER HAVE A GIRLFRIEND OR ARE DESPERATE TO HAVE ONE.

So isnt his girlfriend somebody else's sister.So why does this thing which appeared right and correct to them in their girlfriend's case not applicable when his sister is somebody else's girlfriend.

Iam not acting like a saint.Even if I had a sister may be even i would have thought as my friends were.So what is it that comes in way of our thinking.

Is it because of the way we treat our women in our culture.Is it because we think our sisters are incapable of taking their own decisions.Is it because we dont want somebody to do those things to our sister that we do to our girlfriend.(I dont have one,i meant others)

I personally think its a mixture of all the above factors.It bites us when you come to know our sisters are somebody else's girlfriend.We want our sisters to be AMRITA RAO in VIVAAH,but want our girlfriends to be like KATRINA KAIF in RACE.

Its a concern for members of the family that the girl should not do anything against family pride.They dont want a situation like neighbours discussing her life.And in a country like ours,with the type of culture we are accustommed to,neighbours love love affairs in others houses.Gives them a masala topic to chitchat,like an MMS SCANDAL keeps tv channels buzzing with excitement.

So in INDIA,Where people take family pride and honous more important than family itself,this is exactly how it would be.

please comment on this issue,i know everyone would have a thing or two to say.

"SO CALLED INTELLECTUALS"

The continuation for the previous post(lust part 2) will not be written because my co author and friend say it is too bold and raw and crude for people to perceieve(i had written it but later deleted it)So I apologize.here comes the new post.And this one is written in just a haste ,so it will neither have order nor humour nor grammar,so please bear with it


There is one great dialogue from a Rajni kanth movie 'BABA'.It is something like this"a wise man does not speak and a foolish man cannot be without speaking".I like this dialogue for primarily two reasons
1.It came from the mouth of RAJNI KANTH
2.It refers to the people i see around me in my everyday life and especially at IIT.
Because we(the so called intellectuals) come from IIT(the so called best college for engineering)people expect us to know everything.Recently when i went home for holidays the motor that draws water stopped working.

Suddenly my mom called me and asked what subjects i had studied the previous semester.i started replying 1.DIGITAL ELECTRONICS 2.MATERIAL SCIENCE 3.ELECTROMACHINERY.

Then she asked me to stop and asked what i studied in electromachinery.when she learnt that i had learnt about transformers and motors,she asked me if i could repair the motor.my first dialogue"what a joke",second dialogue"what the f..k",though the second was only in my mind and in my own language.

When i replied that i cudnot,she said isnt a mechanic better than you then.

I thought she had a point.

A mechanic who never might have gone beyond 10th class,never dreamt of engineering knows better than anyone of us the working of a motor and he knows everything about it.And he is not going to forget it like we do after a semester ends.

So isnt everything we are being taught and we have been learning nothing in comparision to what we call as "experience".So we the so called intellectuals are nothing when compared to people who have not even studied half as much as we do.

Thats what i think is wrong in the system,its high time we realised education is beyond the walls of the classroom,should cross the boundaries of school and should come out from the confines of the text book.

Two days back i went into K's room.K was seeing a movie on his laptop(an english one).I also saw the film for about two minutes and realised that a girl was playing in a men's football match.I asked K why the girl was playing.He said she was dressed like a man and playing.I had no problem with the film or its storyline.The movie was SHE's THE MAN.But I had a problem with K.Because the same K told RAB NE BANA DI JODI was an illogical film and questioned as to why the heroine couldnot identify shah rukh after he has removed his moustache.I replied that it was a film and he indeed looked different which he refused to accept.So now i have a problem with K if RNBDJ appeared illogical how come you liked SHE's THE MAN.And with the extra assets the girl had it would be very easy to say she's a woman in the football attire of hers.

This is just one instance.100 such incidents happen everday.

The answer though untold by K(or any other) is very simple.It is written on their faces

HOLLYWOOD DOES NOT AND WILL NOT MAKE MISTAKES.BOLLYWOOD DOES NOT AND WILL NOT MAKE GOOD FILMS.

What I'm trying to say is people take pride in ridiculing their own habits and style and appreciating others as that would mean he was much higher than his own fellowmen.

It makes themselves believe they are cool and intelligent.

This is what i call 'I'm the STUD' syndrome.

People act like pseudo intellectuals just to say to themselves"ALL IZZ WELL AND I'm ALSO A STUD"

IMPORTANT NOTE:K is a stud and an intellectual except for that one meeting

LOVE AND LUST(BOY AND GIRL CONTEXT)PART 1

I have always been confused as to what love between a boy and girl meant.Like what actually is love.So is it like one of these abstract mathematical methods which can be realised only in theory and does not have any physical significance and can be just used an answer as to explain the unexplained.I dont know,but let me tell u how one orkut user defined it

LOVE HAS BEEN CONCEIVED TO UNDERSTAND THE MEANING OF HATE BETTER.

sounds funny but does make some sense to me.

lets see how films,movies,novels,magazines define love as.

LOVE IS LIKING SOMETHING OR SOMEONE UNCONDITIONALLY WITHOUT EXPECTING ANYTHING IN RETURN.

I do agree with this definition partially.

I WOULD STILL LIKE MY PARENTS AND FAMILY THE SAME WAY EVEN IF THEY WERE ANY DIFFERENT.

I WILL ALWAYS LIKE RAHUL DRAVID EVEN IF HE GETS OUT FOR 0 HUNDRED CONSECUTIVE TIME.

BUT AS FAR AS LOVE BETWEEN BOY AND GIRL IS CONCERNED DOES THIS DEFINITION HOLD.

I THINK IT DOES NOT SATISFY THE DEFINITION(in most cases not every).

this so called love is it unconditional.lets see a few cases.
1.IF IT IS WHY ARE THERE BAD BREAK UPS
2.IF ONE OF THEM STARTS DATING SOMEONE ELSE WUD U LOVE OTHER THE SAME WAY AS U HAD BEFORE
3.IF THE OTHER PERSON CANT GIVE U THE TYM U DEMAND WHY DOES THE LOVE STOP.
4.WHY DONT ALL LOVE LEAD TO MARRIAGES
5.WHY DOES LOVE FAIL

1.HAVE U EVER SEEN TWO FRIENDS BREAKING UP
2.HAVE U EVER SEEN A MOTHER DISOWNING HER SON FOR REASON OF NOT BEING ABLE TO GIVE ENOUGH TIME.

i have seen relationships failing for the mere fact of not buying an expensive gift for valentines day.

i have seen relationships fail bcoz the guy/girl found someone more better looking.

so this is my theory

THERE ARE 3 OF LOVERS IN THIS WORLD.

1.PEOPLE WHO LOVE
2.PEOPLE WHO THINK THEY LOVE
3.PEOPLE WHO LOVE THE FEELING OF BEING LOVED AND DONT ACTUALLY LOVE

the first group is a minority,second grp does exist.

the third group is the most common.

the persons ego is satisfied if u know that someone likes u,u like the feeling that someone likes u.u want that feeling to stay and for that u like the someone(if ur lust towards that person is good enough).so u like the other so that the feeling stays with u

this is the premise on which most love stories are built on these days.EGO SATISFACTION.
girlfriend/boyfriend have become symbols of social status,things to be flaunted,which increases ur worth in the society.

it satisfies ur ego when u have a gf and others dont,it gives u a mental high and so u like the person responsible for this.

JUST THIS-U FEED MY EGO AND I FEED URS ,SO THAT WE CAN HAVE OUR EGOS SATISFIED IN THE SOCIETY.
